Constantly creating fresh, new content for your Instagram account can be a challenge sometimes. Thankfully, you can collect user-generated content (UGC) to help you build out a library of relevant posts, so that you always have something to share with your followers!
So what is UGC? UGC is simply photos or videos that are created by your customers, rather than your brand itself. A great way to collect UGC on Instagram is to search through photos you’ve been tagged in, posts you’ve been mentioned in, and check-ins at your location.
Another great reason to share UGC is that it shows you’re listening to your audience and make them feel more connected with your brand. Not only this, but UGC often feels “more human” than typical brand content, which actually can more effective and trustworthy to other customers when it comes to promoting your business.
Important: Especially for larger brands, it’s best practice to reach out to the original poster and ask permission to use their photos (a simple DM or comment will do). At the very least, make sure you always credit and tag your original source!
