5 Tips To Create A Better Performing Video On Social Media

Making videos for your social media pages? Start with our pro-tips that can help make your videos more successful:

  1. Make it quick. People on social media usually don’t have a lot of time (or a big attention span). Create your video to be 15-30 seconds or less.

  2. Catch their attention in the first 3 seconds. Whether it’s a sale, new menu item, or promotion, get it out there quickly. If you wait too long to get to the point, your viewer will be gone.

  3. Add captions to your video! Not only is it appropriate for accessibility reasons, but according to Digiday, 85% of people also consume video with their sound off. Make sure someone can easily understand your message if they don’t have any volume on!

  4. Include B-roll in your videos. Watching someone talk for an entire video isn’t the most effective way to keep a viewer watching. If it’s closer to a 30-second video, using b-roll is important to keep visual interest and demonstrate what you’re talking about.

  5.  Make it Consumable. Along with the duration of the video, you’ll want to make your video a complete story. First, quickly get to the sale/promotion, describe the details, and end with a call-to-action (and a nice big smile).
